Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party company operating that feature. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Rio Grande County Court Docket does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other direct message may be kept as long as needed to prepare a response. It is not disclosed outside the operating team unless the sender authorizes disclosure or a valid legal duty requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive basic technical and usage details:
- The device's internet protocol address
- Browser type and software version
- Operating system and general device category
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- A referring website, when one is supplied
- The date and time associated with a page request
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device to support site functions and measure how pages are used. Analytics providers may combine visits into general traffic reports, such as which pages receive the most use. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although some features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, maintaining, and improving page performance
- Routing a search to the provider selected by the visitor
- Measuring which reference pages are useful or need revision
- Diagnosing errors, misuse, and technical faults
- Delivering advertising that may reflect general interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Rio Grande County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal case information. It publishes directions to the Clerk of Court at Rio Grande Combined Court, the District and County Courts, the Colorado Judicial Branch Docket Search, and the Colorado Court of Appeals. Official case records are governed primarily by Chief Justice Directive 05-01; the Colorado Open Records Act applies to government records generally but does not turn this private website into a court-record custodian. No visitor data is assembled into a consumer report, and this website is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes shown on some pages. Information submitted through a tool is handled under that provider's privacy policy. The provider, not this website, decides how long it retains input and when it shares data. Read the applicable policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court and clerk pages, statewide portals, legal-aid resources, or commercial services. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that site's policy governs the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
An advertising provider may use its own technology to recognize activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs under the provider's controls and policy.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold by Rio Grande County Court Docket. Limited information may be available to:
- A search provider selected to process a submitted query
- Analytics vendors measuring site traffic and reliability
- Advertising networks serving content on these pages
- A court, agency, or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under this site's control. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, so loss, misuse, or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out completely.
Users Under 18
This website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 18. When credible notice identifies information submitted by a minor, reasonable steps will be taken to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the law that applies where a visitor lives. The Colorado Open Records Act concerns records held by government bodies and does not create access rights to data held by this private website. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information held about that visitor
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Seek deletion where retention is not legally required
- Object to or opt out of processing when the law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A replacement version becomes effective when it is posted here with its updated date.
